2015-2017 Ukrainian-Dutch Matra project "Development of capacity of citizens to participate in the implementation and monitoring of the reform processes in agriculture, land management and rural development" (BELIEVE)

Main objective of the Matra project BELIEVE was to ensure community participation and stimulate good governance in the implementation of the ‘Ukrainian State Strategy to develop agriculture and rural areas for the period till 2020’ of the Ministry for Agrarian Policy and Food MAPF (and is linked with the Dutch MinEZ/RVO Memorandum of Understanding and ‘Program of Cooperation’ with MAPF). This is organised through: A. stimulating self-governance through capacity building for the development of (12) local business rural development plans; this appeared an essential component for concrete commitment, motivation and strengthening of the rural communities B. in monitoring of the several reform processes, government programs and legislation (needed to implement these plans)
