On June 19-20, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Steering Committee of the National Political Dialogue on Integrated Water Resources Management in Ukraine was held. The event brought together experts in the field of water resources management to discuss the potential for development and cooperation opputunities.
Olga Zhovtonog, director of NGO Primavera, on behalf of the Public Water Initiative (PWI), participated in the event and delivered a report on "Implementation of water governance for the formation of a policy of reconstruction and modernization of the water sector in Ukraine."
Olga Zhovtonog highlighted that the PWI aims to advance the development of Ukraine's intersectoral water policy for adapting and modernizing the water sector in response to new challenges such as war, climate change, and socio-economic transformations. She emphasized that collaboration with the government, international organizations, projects, and other stakeholders is essential for developing an intersectoral water policy through the National Water Dialogue based on Water Governance principles. These principles include transparency, participation, interaction, accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency, aligning with Ukraine's European integration goals.
