Together with the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation, NGO "Women's Water Partnership - Ukraine," NGO Primavera is initiating the creation of a Public Water Initiative that will bring together professionals and experts in the water sector to promote water governance based on principles of transparency, participation, interaction, accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency, aligning with the interests and European integration course of Ukraine.

For reference. The Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam was destroyed on June 6, 2023, which is considered a war crime and potentially an act of genocide committed by the Russian army during the Russian invasion. The destruction of the HPP and the Kakhovka reservoir dam led to the uncontrolled release of a huge volume of water, equivalent to Ukraine's water needs for 2 years. Approximately 600 km2 were flooded, and the water level in Kherson rose by more than 5 meters. Due to the significant rise in water levels in the Ingulets River, the Ingulets Irrigation System was flooded. According to the Ministry of Environment, the total losses from the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP exceed 146 billion UAH.
