NGO Primavera with the support of the Government of the Netherlands have started  the  implementation of  a pilot project  “"Development of capacity for the creation of WUO  for water resources management for sustainable agricultural production in the Volyn region" ”.

On September 21-22, 2023, the first working meetings were held in Volyn Oblast State Administration and in Kolodyazhne community, Kovel district with the participation of stakeholders at the  regional and local levels.

The purpose of the meetings was to present the project, engage  participants in dialogue, discuss the problems of  the pilot area of the project  and conduct the first training of stakeholders at the local level on the legislative and regulatory framework for the creation of WUOs.

Following the  meeting, the participants agreed to establish an ongoing dialogue for the successful implementation of project tasks and close cooperation  with a group of stakeholders, as well as conducting further trainings on the issues of functioning of WUOs on drainage systems, tariff system, innovations, restoration of monitoring facilities on systems, etc.

In addition, the participants noted the importance of studying and implementing the experience of the Netherlands regarding the improvement of water resources management in the territories of the pilot project in the Volyn region (Krychevychivska drainage system) with the further implementation of this experience in the territories of other drainage systems, in other communities and regions of Ukraine.
