The 12th International Scientific and Practical Conference under the motto "Water for Peace" is dedicated to World Water Day

On March 21, 2024, experts from the NGO Primavera took part in the work of the 12th International Scientific and Practical Conference under the motto "Water for Peace" dedicated to World Water Day. The conference was initiated by the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. Participants discussed issues related to the formation of water security in Ukraine in modern conditions, water resource management, and ways to address them, including the impact of warfare during a full-scale invasion on water and land resources, particularly the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.

Overall, around 200 participants from 31 organizations, including scientists and experts from Lithuania, Georgia, Turkey, and Japan, took part in the conference, which was held in a hybrid format with simultaneous interpretation. The online conference included a plenary session and two thematic sections (sustainable water use, protection, and restoration of water resources; agricultural land reclamation and use of reclaimed lands).

In particular, the director of the NGO Primavera, Olga Zhovtonog, presented a report on "Methodological Principles and Effective Tools for Water Policy Formation" during the plenary session.
